I'm a pretty simply guy and try not to overcomplicate things. I also have a very strong faith in God and try my best everyday to use my life to bring Him glory. One of my favorite things is teaching my kids how to reach their goals when it comes to life, school and sports. We use this three step process that we call the ABC's for Life Success.
A - stands for ASK God for Help! When we set out to set our personal or family goals we first spend time praying about the goals to make sure they are more about Him and less about us.
B - stands for BELIEVE in Yourself! I don't know about you, but I have found many people simply lack confidence in themselves. The cool things is, when we start with God we really are believing in Him to work through us.
C - stands for COMMIT All You Have! If the goal is really worth reaching we must commit all we have to it. It may be a commitment of time, money, energy, or something else. But if you don't have the desire to make it happen goals just remain goals. Commitment allows you to keep going when you feel like giving up.
This little three step process works for adults too. I have seen it work when setting personal, relational, financial, and vocational goals. Try it and pass it on!
